Call for ‘Second Wednesday Webinar’ Presenters

The CDC’s Division of State and Local Readiness (DSLR) seeks local and state health department staff to serve as 2018 presenters for the CDC Second Wednesday Webinar series. Ideal presentations will provide a 45-minute overview of a health department’s innovative or promising practices, lessons learned, and/or effective strategies on the below topics.

2018 CDC Second Wednesday Webinar Topic Areas:

Emergency Operations Coordination:

  • Strategies for efficient and coordinated response plan activation
  • Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP) promising practices and lessons learned during an activation or response

Response Security Planning:

  • Strategies and partnerships for ensuring adequate security is available for response operations including for MCM transport, public points of dispensing (PODs), closed PODs, and traffic control.

Demobilization:

  • Demobilization trigger points and planning considerations
  • Lessons learned from real world response demobilization activities

Mass Vaccination Planning:

  • Mass vaccination planning and exercise best practices
  • Strategies for addressing vaccine cold chain requirements and storage needs

Leveraging the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Preparedness Rule to Advance Local Planning:

  • Lessons learned, strategies, and partnerships that have emerged since the passing of the CMS Preparedness Rule

MCM Operational Readiness Review and Action Plan Best Practices:

  • Promising practices and resources that have increased efficiency and added value to completion of the MCM ORR and MCM Action Plans

Addressing Language Needs:

  • Promising practices for addressing language needs at response sites including strategies for non-English speaking individuals, those with limited English proficiency, and others persons with access and functional needs.

Faith-Based Partnerships

  • Promising practices utilizing faith-based organizations in preparedness planning activities.
