As part of the Biden Cancer Moonshot initiative, CDC is hosting a virtual conversation where panelists will discuss approaches that can be taken to support connections between health officials, healthcare providers, patients and families, and their advocates to better understand and address concerns around cancer and the environment across communities in the United States. Discussion topics will include trainings for healthcare providers, establishing patient information and referral centers, broadening approaches to examine cancer and environmental concerns in communities, resources and support from academic and non-governmental organization partners, and community perspectives and needs. Overview of the Biden Cancer Moonshot:

On February 2, 2022, President Biden reignited the Cancer Moonshot and set new ambitious goals: to reduce the death rate from cancer by at least 50 percent by 2047, preventing over 4 million cancer deaths, and improve the experience of people and their families living with and surviving cancer. President Biden announced a whole-of-government response, including the formation of a Cancer Cabinet to be convened by the White House, bringing together departments, agencies, and White House components to address cancer on multiple fronts.
