The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently released a Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) to highlight CDC’s contributions towards the fight against Zika virus in 2016. The report provides a detailed timeline of response events enacted worldwide, as well as details the 10 critical contributions towards addressing the Zika virus.
Some of the contributions include:
- Issuing travel guidance to pregnant women
- Identifying transmission of Zika Virus infection
- Implementing vector control strategies and identifying best practices
