CDC’s presents preliminary congenital syphilis data for infants born in 2020 in the context of larger trends observed for syphilis (all stages) among women of reproductive age (15‒44 years) and congenital syphilis over the prior decade (2010‒2019). As of July 29, 2021, this data reflects cases reported to the CDC through the National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System (NNDSS). The data is considered preliminary as 2020 congenital syphilis data will continue to be reported to CDC through fall of 2021. |
