Deadline Approaching: Rapid Syphilis Testing Funding Opportunity for Local Health Departments

Sep 21, 2016 | Kim Rodgers

NACCHO is pleased to announce a funding opportunity for local health departments (LHDs). With support from CDC’s Division of STD Prevention, NACCHO will be offering funding and technical assistance to up to five LHDs for a multi-site evaluation of the use of the Rapid Syphilis Test (RST) in nonclinical settings. This project is an exciting opportunity to develop and expand LHD STD prevention and treatment activities in nontraditional settings and among hard-to-reach populations, and to contribute valuable data and perspectives to inform the use of RST by LHD STD programs across the nation.

An informational webinar was hosted for potential applicants on September 30, 2016. View the webinar slides and check out the FAQ sheet to see what was discussed. Application requirements and full details of the project are available in the Request for Applications (RFA). Applications are due by 11:59 PM PDT on October 21, 2016. Questions about the RFA and application process can be directed to Nicholas Parr, Senior Program Analyst, HIV, STI, and Viral Hepatitis, at nparr@naccho.org or 202-595-1121.
