The Preparedness Policy Advisory Group (PPAG) held its monthly call on December 9. During this call, Julie Looper, Senior Program Analyst at NACCHO, provided an informational update on the 2015 Network Profile of the Medical Reserve Corps. In addition, workgroup member Steve Alles, Program Manager from the Philadelphia Department of Public Health presented an overview on how the local health department (LHD) prepared for the Papal visit in late September. This presentation looked at how the LHD utilized MRC volunteers from across the state to help staff the event. Other discussions included LHD’s role in preparing for a terrorist attack, as well as the 2016 Preparedness Summit. The next PPAG call is scheduled for Wednesday, January 13.
