Designing a Preparedness Program for People with Access and Functional Needs

The first objective of the National Health Security Strategy (NHSS) focuses on building community resilience through social connectedness, coordination of health and human services agencies, and increasing access to information and training. In alignment with this objective, the Kent County Health Department, in collaboration with community partners, designed and delivered a preparedness program for people with access and functional needs. The goal of this program was to increase the resilience of people in Kent County, MI and to identify peer trainers for future iterations of the program.
