The California Conference of Directors of Environmental Health (CCDEH) is requesting that environmental health professionals throughout the State of California observe a solemn minute of silence on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 11 AM PST to honor the victims of the San Bernardino, CA mass shooting tragedy. Others throughout the United States and the international community are also welcome to join in this demonstration of love, respect, sympathy, and solidarity. Please join CCDEH and the environmental health community in this show of support.
Several of the victims worked in the environmental health division of San Bernardino County Department of Public Health. While we mourn the loss of these colleagues, we also have in our thoughts those who were injured and wish them a speedy recovery.
As always, NACCHO remains committed to providing resources, training, and guidance to its local health department members to help in their response to this ongoing public health challenge. Please view NACCHO’s statement on the San Bernardino shooting for more information.
