Flu on Call™ and Antiviral Dispensing and Distribution Workgroups May Report

May 14, 2014 | Erin Roberts

The Flu on Call™ and the Antiviral Dispensing (AVD) ad hoc workgroups held their second joint monthly meeting on May 12.

The meeting opened with a debriefing on the May 6 Mobile Text Messaging Council meeting, during which the NACCHO Risk Communications workgroup and NACCHO and CDC staff developed name ideas and messaging content for NACCHO’s Antivirals Text Messaging project.

Because the Antivirals Text Messaging project will overlap with the Flu on Call™project, AVD and Flu on Call™workgroup members were asked for their input on the current name ideas. Several members offered their own ideas and, following the call, workgroup members received materials for generating new names and content prior to the next workgroup meeting.

The meeting was cut to half an hour to accommodate a following conference call, during which pharmacy stakeholders discussed the draft NACCHO policy statement, “Local Health Department and Pharmacy Partnerships for Enhancing Medication Dispensing during Emergencies.” Flu on Call™and Antiviral Dispensing workgroup members participated in this discussion.
