HIV is now included among CDC’s list of medical conditions that can increase the risk of severe illness from COVID-19. The list is presented in alphabetical order on CDC’s website.
According to the CDC, “People aged 16 years and older who have underlying medical conditions that increase the risk of serious, life-threatening complications from COVID-19, should be among those offered COVID-19 vaccine first. CDC’s recommendations are based on those of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), an independent panel of medical and public health experts.”
