HIV Primary Care Treatment Guidelines

Jan 22, 2021 | Julia Zigman

The Indian Health Service (IHS) has announced new HIV Primary Care Treatment Guidelines that describe care standards for adults and adolescents living with HIV/AIDS who receive care at IHS facilities. Recent advances in HIV treatment make the management of this infection possible in the primary care setting at any IHS facility. The IHS National HIV/AIDS Program continues to coordinate and promote HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment activities specific to American Indians and Alaska Natives as part of a comprehensive public health approach.
