HRSA Releases Inaugural RWHAP ADAP Annual Client-Level Data Report

Sep 18, 2019 | Kim Rodgers

The Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB) released its inaugural Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) Annual Client-Level Data Report, 2017. The report is the first publication of national ADAP client-level data submitted through the ADAP Data Report (ADR) system. ADR data describe the demographic characteristics of clients accessing ADAP services and the ADAP-funded services used. Data are included for 2014 through 2017, nationally and by state/territory.

The publication provides a deeper look at service utilization, demographic, and socioeconomic factors among clients served by ADAP. The report includes client-level data based on age, race/ethnicity, federal poverty level, and health care coverage.

Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program ADAP provides essential medication to low-income people with HIV who have limited or no health care coverage. ADAP is critical to ensuring that people with HIV are able to adhere to medication regimens and remain virally suppressed. The medication and health care coverage assistance offered by ADAP is crucial for attaining optimal HIV health outcomes among people with HIV, for preventing further transmission of the virus and, ultimately, for ending the HIV epidemic.
