Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and Planned Parenthood Los Angeles have partnered on a new initiative to open 50 health centers in Los Angeles County schools that offer a range of birth control options, HIV/STI testing, pregnancy testing and referrals, and stress and mental health support. The program, which will also train hundreds of teens to be “peer advocates” to help provide information about safe sex and relationships, has launched in 5 schools in communities that are medically underserved and will open additional centers in June.
