Swimming is a fun, healthy way to stay physically active and spend quality time with family and friends. CDC’s Healthy and Safe Swimming Week (HSSW) highlights the roles that swimmers, parents, aquatics and beach staff, residential pool owners, and public health officials play in preventing disease outbreaks, drowning, and pool chemical injuries. This year’s HSSW is May 23-29, 2022.
To promote healthy and safe swimming, May’s Model Aquatic Health Code webinar will highlight increased risk venues. These venues, such as spray pads, wading pools and therapy pools, have a greater likelihood of affecting the health of its bathers than other aquatic venues. Dewey Case, Technical Director of the Council for the Model Aquatic Health Code (CMAHC), will join us to discuss what makes a venue increased risk, and how these risks can be mitigated using guidance from the MAHC.
