Following a national evaluation of the MAPP framework, NACCHO is spearheading a MAPP evolution process to adapt the framework and related training and resources to better meet current field needs and trends around community health improvement (CHI). The evaluation provided foundational evidence for MAPP’s effectiveness in facilitating CHI processes including initiating partnerships, understanding community perspectives, and meeting national standards and requirements. However, the study also provided foundational evidence for the need to update the framework to better integrate health equity and community engagement, address limitations and inefficiencies throughout the process, offer advanced training and resources, and expand its applicability to a broader variety of communities. With funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Health Resources and Services Administration, NACCHO worked with the field to outline revisions to the framework and develop a multi-year blueprint for conducting a MAPP re-design.
Access the MAPP Evolution Blueprint Executive Summary to learn more about the MAPP evolution process, proposed revisions to the framework, and next steps. As NACCHO is embarking on this exciting journey to evolve MAPP, we are committed to keeping the field informed and engaged in the process.
