Jun 09, 2016 | Amy Chang

NACCHO hosted an online sharing session on local regulatory issues dealing with mobile food units. The first presentation highlighted how local regulatory agencies in southern New Jersey addressed challenges with mobile food units by forming a regional mobile task force to standardize mobile food establishment processes and applications. The second presentation focused on challenges with local regulation from the perspective of mobile food unit owners and managers and how regulators and industry can work together to ensure food safety. Finally, participants shared their own challenges, successes, and had an opportunity to ask questions during the Q&A portion of the presentation.

Visit NACCHO’s Food Safety and Defense webpage to access the full webinar recording and additional mobile unit resources, including the PDF presentation, documents from the Southern New Jersey Mobile Unit Taskforce, examples of local health department mobile unit policies, and fire safety on food truck information.
