The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), in coordination with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Radiation Studies Section, is seeking information on upcoming state and/or regional preparedness meetings or conferences to identify potential sites to host a technical assistance and capacity building workshop on radiation preparedness. The workshop will be designed to provide health department attendees and other relevant stakeholders with an understanding on foundational radiation preparedness concepts, terminology, and how health departments across the country should be completing radiation preparedness activities. It will also assist workshop attendees with developing strategies to move radiation planning forward in their jurisdictions. The length and specific topics covered in the workshop are flexible and able to be tailored to needs of the host site.
Meeting Criteria:
NACCHO is ideally seeking locations where there will be a large number of potential local health department attendees that have not yet done a great deal of radiation preparedness work and/or planning. The meeting could be a state preparedness conference, a state association of county and city health officials meeting, a regional healthcare coalition meeting, or other relevant meeting where a large number of local health department preparedness representatives will be present. The meeting must take place sometime between January 1, 2019 and June 30, 2019.
