The 2016 Public Health Informatics (PHI) Conference provided a forum for exploring the interconnected world of health information technology and sharing innovative ideas on how public health informatics is expanding access to care and improving community health. The resounding theme throughout the conference was the importance of using data to drive public health action. In an effort to further explore this topic at the local level, NACCHO is hosting a webinar series focused on public health informatics – the applied science of information and computer information systems – as a critical tool to address public health threats and advance public health practice. The PHI Conference Webinar Series aims to:
- Provide a space for new and seasoned public health, healthcare, and information technology professionals to learn about emerging topics in the public health informatics field.
- Connect information technology, healthcare, and public health professionals to exchange experiences, ideas, and strategies about public health informatics.
- Promote and share best practices that help local health departments incorporate informatics into their agency’s strategy.
As a note, this series is a lead-in to the 2018 PHI Conference and will be hosted through 2018; however, please note that the series is on hold indefinitely due to unforeseen circumstances. The completed webinars in the series are still available for viewing.
