Highlights: Dr. Frieden, director of CDC, reported on the major health issues and challenges facing both the United States and the world. He provided an overview of CDC’s priorities on infectious diseases, food-borne pathogens, environmental health, occupational safety and health, and health promotion. He conveyed the importance of telling the story of public health to policy makers and congress to create awareness about the value and impact of public health prevention.
