The Council for Outbreak Response: Healthcare-Associated Infections & Antibiotic-Resistant Pathogens (CORHA), which includes representatives from local health departments on behalf of NACCHO, has released two draft chapters of the CORHA High-Level Guidance for Outbreaks of Healthcare-Associated Infections and Antimicrobial-Resistant Pathogens. The High-Level Guidance aims to equip public health, healthcare and other stakeholders with information on a series of healthcare-associated infection (HAI) and antimicrobial resistance (AR) outbreak response topics. The document also aims to serve as a resource for users to build, standardize or improve capacities and practices related to HAI/AR outbreak detection, reporting, investigation and control. The two draft chapters are:
- Chapter 2: Fundamental Concepts of Healthcare-Associated Infections and Antimicrobial-Resistant Pathogens Surveillance and Outbreak Response
- New! Chapter 3: Planning and Preparation for Healthcare-Associated Infection and Antimicrobial-Resistant Pathogen Outbreak Response
- New! Chapter 4: Healthcare-Associated Infection and Antimicrobial-Resistant Pathogen Outbreak Detection and Reporting
- Chapter 5: Investigation and Control of Healthcare-Associated Infection and Antimicrobial-Resistant Pathogen Outbreaks
CORHA is collecting feedback and comments to improve these chapters. Please provide any feedback by completing this form on the website, or by emailing [email protected].
