On August 12, Dr. Nancy Messonnier, CDC’s Director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD), presented a webinar providing additional details on how the COVID-19 vaccine will be distributed and administered.
The presentation outlines the different components and steps involved in vaccine distribution and administration and the current plans for getting vaccines to providers. She outlined the three phases of administration and noted that phase one would begin in the coming months. Microplanning began this week with the five pilot sites CDC previously identified (North Dakota, Florida, California, Minnesota, Philadelphia).
