AcademyHealth has released two new issue briefs on the role of Medicaid in increasing access to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).

The first brief, Leveraging Medicaid Financing and Coverage Benefits to Deliver PrEP Intervention Services, presents a framework for considering applicable Medicaid program levers to increase and improve PrEP delivery as well as an overview of Medicaid financing issues for PrEP specific to provider and setting types. The second brief, Enhancing Medicaid Provider and Patient Engagement and Education to Deliver PrEP Intervention Services, identifies educational resources and operational support tools that experts report would be most helpful in promoting engagement.
