Due to climate change and aging infrastructure, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) emergencies are increasing in severity and frequency and have the potential to cause adverse health effects. Local health departments (LHDs) are tasked with responding to these emergencies and limiting negative health impacts. NACCHO’s new preparedness checklist, developed by LHD experts, can be used as a quick guide to strengthen partnerships and processes to ensure community preparedness related to WASH.
