Johns Hopkin University faculty and colleagues recently released an ambitious new federal plan to address the low PrEP uptake in the U.S. and the fragmented and broken PrEP financing and delivery system. The proposal is a fresh perspective on how to address drug pricing and access as well as PrEP labs and ancillary services for the uninsured and those on Medicaid.
The proposed national PrEP program centers six principles: accessibility, equity, simplicity, affordability, sustainability, and adaptability. The proposal, two-pager description, and FAQs are all available here.
