As a recent survey by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) illustrates, the pandemic has had an impact on the mental wellbeing of public health workers. That survey found that 53% of respondents reported symptoms of at least one mental health condition in the past two weeks. NACCHO appreciates the efforts of the public health workforce and is here to support your health and wellbeing. As such, we have developed a resource library with tools and trainings to help public health workers build resilience.

In addition, NACCHO hosted a webinar, “Upstream Approaches” to Build Resiliency: Organizational and Leadership Strategies, on Tuesday, August 24. This interactive virtual webinar explored workforce stressors and how organizations have been impacted by anxiety, brain fog, and burnout in workforce environments. Participants explored evidence-informed strategies and resources for organizations, teams, and leadership to build resilience in the workplace and explored communication strategies and methods to build team cohesion and healthy workplace culture.
