The Health Impact Project recently released two issue briefs on Health Impact Assessment (HIA) and Housing. These briefs are designed to help practitioners from the housing sector and from the public health sector understand the role HIA can play in developing healthy housing policies. The briefs, “Health Impact Assessment and Housing: Opportunities for the Housing Sector” and “Health Impact Assessment and Housing: Opportunities for the Public Health Sector” were developed in conjunction with the National Center for Healthy Housing (NCHH) and the National Housing Conference (NHC). NCHH and NHC have also released a more comprehensive document, “A Systematic Review of Health Impact Assessments on Housing Decisions and Guidance for Future Practice,” which served as a source for much of the information contained in the briefs.
