Now in Spanish: Third Edition of the CIFOR Guidelines for Foodborne Disease Outbreak Response

The Council to Improve Foodborne Outbreak Response (CIFOR) released the streamlined and easy-to-read third edition of the CIFOR Guidelines for Foodborne Disease Outbreak Response in Spanish! The CIFOR Guidelines are a comprehensive source of information on foodborne disease investigation and control for local, state, territories, tribes, and federal health agencies.

The Guidelines describe: (a) the overall approach to addressing foodborne disease outbreaks, including preparation, detection, investigation, control and follow-up; and (b) the roles of key organizations in foodborne disease outbreaks. ¡El Consejo para el Mejoramiento de la Respuesta a Brotes de Enfermedades Transmitidas por los Alimentos (CIFOR) ha publicado ya la tercera edición de Lineamientos para la Respuesta a Brotes de Enfermedades Transmitidas por los Alimentos de CIFOR, simplificada y fácil de leer, en español! Las Directrices de CIFOR son una fuente completa de información sobre la investigación y el control de enfermedades transmitidas por los alimentos para las agencias nacionales, estatales, locales de salud.

Las Directrices describen: a) el enfoque general para abordar los brotes de enfermedades transmitidas por los alimentos, incluida la preparación, la detección, la investigación, el control y el seguimiento; y b) las funciones de las organizaciones clave en los brotes de enfermedades transmitidas por los alimentos. About CIFOR

The Council to Improve Foodborne Outbreak Response (CIFOR) is a multidisciplinary collaboration of national associations and federal public health agencies whose goal is to improve methods at the local, state, and federal levels to detect, investigate, control, and prevent foodborne disease outbreaks. CIFOR identifies barriers to rapid detection and response to foodborne disease outbreaks and develops projects that address these barriers. CIFOR member organizations represent epidemiology, environmental health, public health laboratories, and regulatory agencies involved in foodborne disease surveillance and outbreak response.
