NYC Health has released new guidance and resources regarding STI treatment during the COVID-19 crisis. The guidance covers syndromic management of anogenital dischargers and ulcers and presumptive oral treatment of uncomplicated gonorrhea infection. NYC Health also released a Dear Colleague letter encouraging presumptive treatment, use of oral treatment regimens, electronic prescribing, and use of expedited partner therapy. For people who have been exposed to an STI, NYC Health released information on getting treatment without seeing a doctor, including an overview of potential symptoms and information about the safety, side effects, and administration of different medicines.
