National Public Radio published an article on why there may be a perceived increase in foodborne illness outbreaks. According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the increase may be due to the improved ability to identify outbreaks due to new information technologies and laboratory techniques. In addition, the public is hearing about product recalls that may not be linked to actual illnesses. Read more here.
