The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health has released the latest episode of the Public Health On Call podcast, titled “How COVID-19 is Impacting Sex Workers and People Who Use Drugs and Why Helping Them is Necessary for Everyone’s Survival.” The episode explores how COVID-19 has impacted people who live on or earn their income from the streets, and how they may be more vulnerable to COVID-19 and other outcomes like violence injury, or illness. In the episode, guest host Dr. Colleen Barry interviews Dr. Susan Sherman, founder of a harm reduction center in Baltimore, about her outreach work during COVID-19 and how principles of dignity and respect are even more important at a moment like this.
