The Preparedness Planning, Outcomes, and Measures (PPOM) workgroup held its monthly call on Jan. 28. Geetika Nadkarni from the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials provided an overview on implementation of the newly-launched National Health Security Preparedness Index (NHSPI). The group discussed resources available for interpreting and disseminating the data, as well as future tasks for revising and sustaining the NHSPI. PPOM members also provided feedback on a resource document for local health departments and subawardees regarding Public Health Emergency Preparedness Capability 1: Community Preparedness. This document will be used to inform the development of a resource listing and related guidance for local health departments and subawardees. NACCHO staff updated members on the development/revision of related NACCHO policy statements (e.g., preparedness performance standards and metrics, administrative preparedness, incorporating vulnerable populations into planning and response, and promoting preparedness planning). The next PPOM call is scheduled for Feb. 25.
