PPAG held its monthly call on Sept. 11 where the group first received an update on the National Health Security Preparedness Index. Members of the PPAG had served as reviewers for the Index and were pleased to see that their comments had been incorporated into the new version. The Index will be rolled out throughout October. PPAG also had a robust discussion about the distribution of public health emergency preparedness (PHEP) funding in each state since every one manages the distribution of PHEP dollars very differently. NACCHO followed up with a survey to PPAG to collect the differences in each state and intends to return the results to the group for further discussion on the topic.
