During the month of July, Project Public Health Ready (PPHR) NACCHO staff continued the recruitment and selection process for reviewers for the fall 2016 review cycle. Reviewers selected for this cycle will assess and vet the submitted preparedness plans from health department applicants for this year. The list of participating reviewers will be finalized in early August. PPHR staff also presented at the NACCHO Annual 2016 conference in Arizona to show local health department representatives the alignment between the PPHR and Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) criteria.
In preparation for the fall review, the PPHR NACCHO team has been working to update all reviewer orientation, training, and technical assistance materials while additionally continuing to provide technical assistance to the applicants. Lastly, in conjunction with the Preparedness Planning, Outcomes, and Measurement Workgroup, staff have begun updating the PPHR criteria for the 2017 PPHR applicants.
