During the month of March, NACCHO’s Project Public Health Ready (PPHR) staff worked to organize three events that took place at the 2017 Preparedness Summit in Atlanta, GA. The events included:

• the PPHR Recognition Reception, an annual event engaging over 100 attendees to celebrate the accomplishments of the newly PPHR recognized agencies;
• the PPHR Meet and Greet Luncheon, an informational session open to all Summit attendees to learn about PPHR and ask questions about the program; and
• a 90-minute Summit education session discussing the creation of a new PPHR framework focusing on the assessment of support response agencies’ planning and response capabilities.

NACCHO staff also continue to provide technical assistance to PPHR fall 2016 re-submission applications as well as fall 2017 applicants.

Project Public Health Ready (PPHR) is a criteria-based training and recognition program that assesses local health department (LHD) capacity and capability to plan for, respond to, and recover from public health emergencies.
