Request for Applications: Implementing Overdose Prevention Strategies at the Local Level

Sep 17, 2021 | Andrea Grenadier

With support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), NACCHO is pleased to announce a funding opportunity to local health departments (LHDs). Through this funding opportunity, NACCHO will award up to ten (10) high burden counties or cities to implement activities that address their community’s challenges related to drug overdose through an interdisciplinary, comprehensive, and cohesive public health approach.

Project activities may focus on establishing linkages to care; supporting providers and health systems; enhancing surveillance and data sharing capabilities; improving partnerships with public safety and first responders; implementing harm reduction activities; developing communications campaigns; and implementing innovative prevention projects. Applicants may request up to $500,000. For full details about the funding opportunity, please review the Request for Applications.

Informational Webinar: NACCHO and CDC will host an optional informational webinar on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, from 1:00-2:00 pm EST. Register here.

Applications are due by 11:59 ET on October 21, 2021. Questions about the RFA and application process can be directed to NACCHO’s Overdose Prevention Team at IVP@naccho.org.
