The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) is seeking consultants to provide technical assistance (TA) in the area of data sharing and data surveillance to selected communities participating in NACCHO’s Implementing Overdose Prevention Strategies at the Local Level (IOPSLL) demonstration program. IOPSLL demonstration sites are implementing public health strategies to reduce overdose deaths in their community through prevention and response.
Given the alarming rise in overdose deaths and the urgent need to better track and understand these overdoses, IOPSLL grantees will be conducting surveillance and data sharing activities as one of their overdose prevention and response strategies. Grantees will be expected to apply a health equity framework to all activities, including their data and surveillance strategies, in an effort to reduce health disparities.
NACCHO will award up to a total of $300,000 to TA consultant(s) to support NACCHO and IOPSLL grantees for 16.5 months of technical assistance. This work will be split into two parts. Part I will be between November 15, 2022 – July 31, 2023, and Part II will be between August 1, 2023 – March 31, 2024. Execution of Part II will be contingent upon extension approval from CDC.
