NACCHO is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of STD Prevention (DSTDP) to build the capacity of STD public health programs. NACCHO will coordinate with DSTDP to provide ongoing leadership training and support to STD/HIV program directors and leaders to build their capacity to serve as a catalyst for change and growth of STD public health programs. To that end, NACCHO is searching for three (3) academic/clinical/non-clinical field consultants to support the design and delivery of a STD/HIV program management orientation for up to 17-20 new STD/HIV program directors. Under the leadership of a training design consultant, applicants will be expected to design and deliver at least one of the following sessions, and to support facilitation and leadership of additional session as appropriate.:
- HIV/STI Surveillance and epidemiology program management
- Local health department STI program organizational structure, staffing, and working with state health departments
The two-day training is planned to be delivered in-person in Washington, DC, July 11 and 12, 2024. The course could be in live virtual format (aka not asynchronous or fully self-guided learning), however, in-person participation is preferred. Tailored training for a variety of clinical and non-clinical programs is preferred.
Trainers should have strong, relevant experience in public health STI/HIV program leadership, and in adult learning, training development and/or teaching. Applicants should provide evidence for this in the application.
