The Capacity Building Assistance Provider Network (CPN) recently developed a video and a flyer in an effort to increase the capacity of the HIV-prevention workforce to address social determinants of health as it relates to and affects HIV prevention and care service delivery. Social determinants of health can create implicit and explicit barriers to HIV prevention and care, and many social determinants of health are experienced on a larger structural and policy level. Thus, CPN’s services help community-based organizations, healthcare organizations, and health departments:
- Make practice changes.
- Create supportive policies and protocols.
- Develop interventions that not only focus on the individual, but also on the provider, the organization, and the community.
