The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) is excited to offer local health departments (LHDs) a new opportunity to strengthen infectious disease preparedness and leadership through the Flexible Local Epidemiology for X-factor Emerging Diseases (FLEXED) Learning Community.
As part of this CDC-funded initiative, NACCHO is seeking Peer Ambassadors—public health professionals passionate about building flexible, response-ready epidemiology capacity and fostering peer-to-peer learning nationwide.
Why FLEXED?
FLEXED supports LHDs as they navigate emerging and ongoing infectious disease threats by focusing on foundational and cross-cutting epidemiological skills. This project helps build a more agile, prepared local public health workforce.
What Will Peer Ambassadors Do?

Shape learning opportunities for the FLEXED community
Collaborate with experts and peers to identify training gaps and resource needs

Lead discussions and foster engagement in NACCHO’s Virtual Community
