The Risk Communication and Information Sharing Workgroup held its January call on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 1 PM Eastern Time. Thirteen workgroup members participated in the call. The group discussed research findings from a NACCHO Policy Scholar regarding risk communication capacity at local health departments to help inform a policy statement about the importance of having dedicated and trained staff to plan and conduct risk communication activities during public health emergencies.
Workgroup members also discussed workplan deliverables including possible stories from the field and the development of risk communication toolkit. The workgroup will be recruiting new members from March 1 – 31, 2015. Read more information about the call for workgroup participants
