The Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) HIV/AIDS Bureau’s (HAB) Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Annual Client-Level Data Report, 2016 is now available on the HAB website.
This publication reflects HAB’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the availability of timely program information in a variety of consumer-friendly formats. The report providers stakeholders and partners access to newly available, national Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) client-level data in a single publication. The report features Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Services Report (RSR) data on all clients served by RWHAP during calendar years 2011 through 2015. In addition, the publication provides an in-depth look at demographic and socio-economic factors among clients served, such as age, race/ethnicity, transmission risk category, federal poverty level, health care coverage, and housing status, as well as selected analyses to measure RWHAP’s progress on four goals to inform programmatic effort and funding to end the HIV epidemic.
The 2015 report includes two changes from the previous year, which include:
- Addition of federal poverty level by state and EMA/TGA tables: In this report, data tables were included to display federal poverty level (FPL) by state and by Eligible Metropolitan Area (EMA) and Transitional Grant Area (TGA). Data include numbers and percentages of clients in each FPL, as well as retention in care and viral suppression. Consistent with previous reports, data by state and by EMA and TGA are based on provider location rather than client location.
- Service category name change: In a 2016 Policy Clarification Notice, the RWHAP service category Outpatient Ambulatory Medical Care (OAMC) was changed to Outpatient Ambulatory Health Services (OAHS). Although data were not reported using the new name until 2017, the service category definitions were consistent, so the new service category name is reflected throughout this report. Retention in care and viral suppression are specifically calculated among RWHAP clients receiving OAHS.
