The Council to Improve Foodborne Outbreak Response (CIFOR) is seeking feedback on the CIFOR metrics. Interested epidemiologists and food safety and lab professionals are asked to read the information listed below and email Amy Chang at [email protected] for additional guidelines. The deadline to provide feedback is June 15, 2017.
Background
In preparation for the release of the third edition of the CIFOR Guidelines, the council performed an evaluation of various outbreak response metrics. Based on this assessment, CIFOR drafted a list of recommended outbreak response metrics to be included in Chapter Eight of the new Guidelines, focusing on Performance Indicators for Foodborne Disease Programs.
In an effort to ensure the metrics are representative of the needs and specifications of food safety professionals and industry nationwide, CIFOR is seeking feedback on these draft metrics. Participants will have the opportunity to provide comments on all draft metrics as well as make suggestions for the addition of new metrics. Please note, that this phase of the selection process is solely focused on identifying which metrics will be included in the new guidelines. While, definition and collection protocols for each metric will be determined at a later time.
