NACCHO is currently organizing a point-of-dispensing (POD) demonstration via lunch at the 2014 Preparedness Summit. To plan for the POD demonstration, an ad-hoc workgroup has formed of 28 volunteers from the Medical Countermeasures (MCM) Workgroup, numerous local health departments from around the country, and CDC’s Division of the Strategic National Stockpile. The overall aim of the demonstration is to show innovative practices and provide resources for specific stages in the POD process. Summit attendees will have the opportunity to register to participate in or volunteer for the demonstration in the coming weeks.
NACCHO staff also presented on the topic Emergency Planning for People with Disabilities: A Legal Perspective on an ASTHO eMCM Workgroup call and on the NACCHO MCM Workgroup call to raise awareness on the state and local levels about these legal issues.
