In partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) is pleased to offer a planning grant that includes training and funding for agencies and organizations working with systems-impacted families and/or families impacted by substance use. These families interact with formal systems such as child protective services, the justice system, social services, or programs addressing basic needs insecurities (e.g., WIC, SNAP, housing assistance) for support, intervention, or oversight.
NACCHO will provide training and technical assistance (TTA) to support the development of an action plan that incorporates trauma-informed and resilience-based approaches into their care. Selected organizations will receive funding to complete training related to the Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences (HOPE) framework and to engage in individualized TA to develop action plans that shift their work with families impacted by substance use from a deficit-based to a strengths-based model, aiming to improve provider-family relationships, reduce biases, and enhance family outcomes.
NACCHO invites interested applicants to participate in an informational webinar on Tuesday, October 29th, from 2:00-3:00 pm ET. Participants are encouraged to come with any questions they may have regarding this opportunity. No new information will be shared during the webinar, and applicants do not need to wait for this optional webinar to begin or submit applications. Register here.
