Researchers at the University of Washington and Boston University are gathering information on local health jurisdictions’ (LHJ) extreme heat response plans, programs and activities to assess the implementation and effectiveness of different preparedness and response measures. Your LHJ does not have to have substantial programming to participate. You can share your LHJ’s activities and heat response plan as well as contribute information about your LHJ’s extreme heat preparedness and response activities, priorities and capabilities by completing their short survey. Survey participants will receive a book of their choice from a list of options on weather, climate, and public health (while supplies last). Even if you are unable to complete the survey, the research team would very much appreciate it if you could share a copy of your heat response plans via email. Please direct any questions and/or a copy of your heat response plan to [email protected]. The survey is open now.
