In recognition of Lyme Disease Awareness Month this May, NACCHO elevates a 2019 study on how local health departments are engaged in conducting tick activities within environmental health. From the 2020 Vector Assessment, it was reported that most vector programs do not perform in tick surveillance or control and did not engage in community outreach in preventing tickborne diseases.
