Severe weather – including tornadoes, flooding, snow, and ice – ravaged many southern and mid-western states over the Christmas holiday weekend. NACCHO would like to extend our sympathies to the families who lost loved ones as a result of the recent storms and we wish a speedy recovery to all of the impacted communities.
In the aftermath of these deadly storms, and in anticipation of continued severe weather over the week and as we head into the winter months, NACCHO remains committed to providing resources for organizations to help in their response to weather-related emergencies. NACCHO has compiled a variety of resources to help local health departments and their partners prepare for, respond to, and recover from tornadoes and extreme weather events.
Does your health department have additional resources that may assist others in preparing for severe weather events? If so, please share them with us by e-mailing [email protected].
