Highlights: The National Institute of General Medical Sciences at the National Institutes of Health created an initiative called Modeling of Infectious Disease Agent Study (MIDAS) in 2004. After ten years of successful computational modeling on preparedness issues, MIDAS turned its attention to examining public health laws. This conference explored what role, if any, computational modeling could serve in the public health law space. The proceedings of this meeting are slated to be published in an upcoming edition of the American Journal of Public Health.
