The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) confirmed a case of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE), i.e., Mad Cow Disease, in a six-year-old beef cow in Florida. This was the sixth case of BSE confirmed in the United States in the past 15 years.
According to the USDA, the cow did not endanger human health and never entered the human food supply.
