NACCHO has released video recordings of general sessions from the 2015 NACCHO Annual Conference. Presenters, including Mayor of Kansas City Sylvester “Sly” James Jr., NACCHO Executive Director Dr. LaMar Hasbrouck, U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, and Baltimore City Health Commissioner Leana S. Wen spoke on a variety of topics such as the state of the association, the importance of prevention, the opioid epidemic, and police and community relations.
The conference was held July 7-9 in Kansas City, MO, with the theme, “Envisioning the Future, Creating our Path.” The annual event drew a record-breaking number of 1,300 attendees, who attended sessions on public health issues including maternal and child health, tobacco, violence and injury prevention, emergency preparedness, chronic disease, and informatics.
